Kia ora koutou katoa

Why I'm enrolled at EDA is a rather funny story to me, and it all starts with my current job in door-to-door sales.
I met a person who was working from home in a "high dem" area; its the jargon we used for rich neighborhoods.
The fact that they were in a rather affluent neighborhood
and that they were the first person-of-color I encountered after knocking on around 60 doors intrigued me.

We got to talking, they mentioned that they worked as a developer;
It was then when I essentially threw whatever pitch I had out the window and
started talking to them about what interested me about Programming and Computer Science as a whole.
They seemed impressed by the nuggets of knowledge I had, they took a moment to look me up and down.
They then walked halfway through their driveway and gestured for me to follow, I followed.

They point to their house and says, "I got all this because of my job, and you should think of doing it too".
Apparently there was a shortage of people in the tech space in Aotearoa due to the closed borders.
They tell me about Dev Academy and how it was doing a boot camp and it was fees-free.
An opportunity to up-skill in an area I have always had an affinity for? I followed through.

Whether it was my impulsive personality or my zodiac sign, (I'm such an Aries omg xd)
it was impossible not to see this Programme as a vehicle that could take me anywhere I wanted to be.
Having visited this page is both an official invitation to follow me on my journey,
and a first class seat to all the breakdowns I shall have in the coming weeks
